Free months dog insurance cancelled as breeder did not convey details to pet plan, what can i do?

hi, bought puppy and we lost her 6 days later due to a tragic accident, we be and are still devastated, rang insurance company up regards claiming and they have not received details from breeder, rang him and he forgot, so pet plan say i own no right to claim. What rights do i have regarding the breeder. Thanks
