How can I bring Novolog insulin for free/cheap until I grasp form insurance?
I am a type 1 diabetic who uses Novolog insulin in an insulin pump.
I just graduate from college which made my insurance with my parents end. I get a new job but my strength insurance with this company doesn't kick within for three months.. so I currently have no health insurance. I'm wondering if anyone know how to get insulin for free or cheap until I get my vigour insurance? If not, it's $100 a bottle! :S I have a prescription, I just necessitate to figure out how to get cheap insulin!
Any help/suggestions you could proffer would be great! Thanks!
You can go to their website, but if you're employed I doubt you'll qualify because so many society have no insurance because they're laid off. You could see if your doc, diabetes tutor, or hospital has some they can spare.
Also, Walmart has their Reli-On brand of Regular insulin. Doesn't work as promptly as Novolog, but it's all we had until a few years ago, it's cheap, and it will work fine until you obtain your insurance. Make sure to call your doc to see what the conversion ratio is from Novolog > Regular. Source(s): Type 1 for 25 years
I hold known of people getting insulin from the county strength dept.
they might do it at your co .health dept.might not have your Rx type. cant hurt to phone them. Source(s): R.N.
Check with your pharmacy and see if they can oblige. They may be able to direct you to a temporary prescription assistance program. Have you asked your parents to see if COBRA insurance is available for the short permanent status through their insurance. The costs of COBRA insurance is high though and it may be cheaper just to buy the insulin yourself. I decision you the best.

You could come and live in the UK perhaps? its completely free here, on the national form system. You'd better pray your president does a good job convincing his senate.
