No condition insurance result in I'm 17, so free clinic or what?
This may be a stupid question but anyways...
So, I used to have a prescription to Fluoxtine (Prozac) that be prescribed to me by the doctor up the road. I gave the prescription to my mother to fill and she took it away from because she doesn't believe within antidepressants, even though she knows that depression runs in our own flesh and blood.
Since the prescription is generic its $4 so price isn't an issue here. But, I am 17 and dont have my own medical insurance. I want to go wager on to the doctors to get the prescription refilled because I requirement the medicine. Now, since I dont have insurance, do I purely go back to that doctor or do I hold to go to a free clinic to get a perscription? And how can I find free clinics around the nouns I live?
And please dont answer if you are against medication or teens doing antidepressants. Life sucks and sometimes you need some help from medication when you attain into ruts. Kthnx.
Sorry for such a dumb question.
Answers:
You need to see a doctor who will diagnose depression and monitor your progress on the meds. Antidepresant doses recurrently need to be gradually familiar, and just going to a doc to get the prescription in need follow up is dangerous. If you cant routinely see that doctor, then progress to a free clinic where they can bring you back at smallest every 3 months for follow up.
Your mental health is none of your mom's business, you have complete autonomy and confidentially in relation to those things, even though you're a minor.
not a dumb question go backbone to the doc u saw since they no u well and tell them what happen and they might not charge u at all or tell them to charge the insurance u have and they wont no the diff or the clinic should be fine and to find a free clinic....every town should have one u can ask ur doc or go to any state form place and ask
