Usually takes about 6 wks to grasp all tar/nicotine levels out of your body. Good for you, this should settle down, as you hold a healthier routine, some jerking up to that time falling asleep is called myoclonus. normal. Still reflect body adjusting to lack of nicotine. pass it more time. Benadryl or diphenhydramine is one antihistamine otc med. makes you really sleepy if not used to it, can also own hyper effect. usually start w 25mg. Do you drink caffeine? maybe need to cut spinal column there also. I had to, bp too elevated. made a difference. try cool cloth on eyes at bedtime. don't think heart slowing down or breathing re to allergy med. just still nicotine. Now , you'll hold more money! Switch to a different allergy med. (avoid the sleepy kind) Your body is lower than stress coping with the withdrawal and the other med may hold irritated your already stressed body.
To help you sleep, buy a bottle of melatonin in the vitamin aisle (it's the hormone contained by your brain that makes you sleep, plus follow other insomia steps, like no caffiene at darkness, etc.)
Try and relax. Withdrawal symptoms will last months and months because you're kicking a major addiction and it's stressful on your body.
I suppose you just need to better coach yourself on what to expect in the way of subtraction and that should ease the anxiety and you'll probably be okay.
If you're not, seek out one of those pay-as-you-go type medical clinics. Most areas hold one. Insurance won't be required. Source(s): I was a medic in the Air Force for a number o f years.
