Where does parliament forcing a citizen to buy robustness insurance fit into a free society?

The same as government/state forcing you to own car insurance, to protect you and me from the poor house. If you expect any kind of system assistance (anything from emergency health care to toll rebates) then you should accept the conditions the political affairs places on you to have this thing. Be indebted your government lets you hold free and fair elections, that you have freedom to move across the country, that you're protected by the constitution.

I must concede that I think being forced to buy insurance from a company is foolish at best and murder at worst. I would never want a company, which is out only to make as much money as possible, to own the power of life and death over me or even to put me into debt for the rest of my time.
It would be better to have a government sponsored vigour service IMO, which is at least partially funded via taxation

And convert the system so that it is cheaper, and also so that the insurance companies find it harder to get out of paying for treatment. The system he is proposing looks similar to that which works in Holland and Switzerland where on earth private companies are involved in providing insurance.
Second, of course common health-cover sucks. That is why we in Western Europe have it. We deduce, hmm, our healthcare system sucks. I know, lets keep it. I guess specifically the same with Japan and Canada as resourcefully.
FACT - the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet.
FACT - the US has higher disappearance rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with total health coverage.
That means that a unresponsive American four year old would have have a better chance of life if they be born in Canada, France, Cuba, Germany, Japan etc, all of which own universal health coverage.
