Should populace be free to prohibit to buy form insurance?

Massachusetts now has a short time direct experience with a "you must buy" health insurance regulation. According to reports at investors.com, two things have emerged -- 1. more populace will use subsidies than government plans on [and thus the program will cost much more than planned], and 2. about three percent of the population simply will not sign up for robustness insurance, or will not pay for it, no matter what.

Thus, my give somebody the third degree -- should people be free to refuse to buy form insurance?

If they should be forced to buy, what do we do about the three percent who simply will not sign the papers or will not pay the bill?

If they should not be forced to buy vigour insurance, what do we do when some of them have a health tragedy and turn up at the hospital wanting to receive health care?

If we donate them health care anyway, does this not amount to a parliament payment system in some form or another? [it doesn't really situation, does it, if the payment comes from Medicaid, property taxes, or higher prices for everyone else, does it? If the consideration is given, someone pays for it or the care system collapses and no one receive care.]

Note that the current flap over "pre-existing conditions" wouldn't happen at adjectives if either 1) everyone always have insurance [was forced to buy], or 2) government always provides effort for everyone who needs it. [Now, what does "need" mean and who decide what is needed -- some government bureaucrat? your doctor? your insurance company? the doctor's insurance company? a jury?]

I'm trying here to find out which is more important -- individual freedom, or taking precision of people's health?

go at it ...

What we should do is avoid our Health Care System and adopt a more socialist one, like in plentiful European countries.

Many people can't afford health keeping and making them pay mandatory money is wrong. In this system it should be a choice to purchase health caution.
Yes. It should be a personal choice.

Most of the people who are uninsured in this country are any college age and healthy as an ox, or have plenty of money and choose not to buy insurance.

The median income of uninsured is $48K and just about a quarter of the uninsured make more than $75K. Source(s): "Also among the uninsured are 17 million Americans who live in households where on earth the annual income exceeds $50,000; 7 million of those without coverage have incomes of $75,000 a year or more."

If the 3% enjoy a health crisis - lets read aloud a heart attack - they will go to an ER which has to treat them by directive. If they do not qualify for Free Care then they will have to compensate out of pocket. 99 out of 100 times they will not pay which means the Hospital eat the loss. Free Care is funded by Hospitals and Insurance Companies. This will drive up Hospital expenses which means Hospitals will show it as an increased expense when negotiating contracts next to private payors(not public payors such as Medicare or Medicaid - their rate increases are based more on available funding levels - Mass Medicaid rate increased for FY10 are certainly negative). This means the insurance companies will increase premiums to keep their profits - which funds the consumer picks up the tab..

one last note - Medicaid contained by Massachusetts is the worst system known to man...
No, people should not be forced to buy health insurance. That's a personal verdict best left to the individual. It's a matter of principle. You shouldn't be forced to purchase something you don't want or don't believe you need.
Massachusetts had a scam that a Repuke of a governor could be merry with. Nobody should have to lay out any money for healthcare. It should adjectives be socialized, not some compromise that keeps the insurance racket surrounded by business leeching off the people. Funny how those who resent giving to the poor enjoy no problem with extortive crapitalist pigs. There's no rhyme or reason to conservative "thought" pattern.
Do you delight in, having rights, slowly taken away? Must be the new "American" CHANGE.
As you point out, the lucid problem with people who beg to be excused to buy health insurance is that, almost always, the rest of us will be vanished paying for their care if they become ill, by some means. We won't let them die at the hospital entrance so they will receive care. One solution is to fine them until they carry out compliance.
it's the law and must be respected
I think Massachusetts is doing the best article for its residents, given that it lacks the power to truly fix the underlying health care issues.
You mean close to this Prescription D thingy? And if you DIDN't jion up, you would be penalized!? If anyone ever tells me I HAVE to sign up, I will relate them to go where the sun don't shine! This is STILL a free country, FREEDOM of CHOICE etc etc. Until they aver it otherwise, the Government should stay out of our personal business. I am happy with the strength care I have get already, along with millions of other individuals. So, take carefulness of the people who lost their jobs, and find them tentative ones. Quit taxing us to death, or none of us will need this Health watchfulness plan!! We may become the Socialist Welfare States of America! The SWSA! Sound familiar? USSR!?
It is and other should be your choice, but under Obama,we are turning into Cuba.
Look at it a different way, if your house was burning, do you tell the fire dept. they can't put it out?
Fire depts. are tax funded, senate run agency's.
Now is your house worth more than your life?
If your house burns and the house next door catch fire because of it, isn't that a concern of the local government?
If you are sick and refuse treatment, and find others sick, isn't that the concern of the government?
remember we are the government, at least possible in the local sense.
