Question roughly speaking dental insurance?
It's almost the end of the year and I need to go and get four wisdom tooth pull up to that time I get braces. I have Metlife. I take a maximum of 1500 dollars every year. I've only used 25 dollars thus far. But I wanted to know if I can use the remainder of my insurance to bring back these teeth pull. They only wage 80 percent but I want to use it all. The total cost is 1710 dollars. I would call Metlife but they're close on the weekend and my appointment is Monday mourning.

FYI,
this is standard dentistry and you are within you benefit limits this year, so do it formerly December 31, 2008.
80% of $1710 is $1368
So if you paid $25
$1368-$25=1343
If I'm correct you should have to repay $367 out of your pocket
My might want to call your dentist and ask them the procedure code for what they about to do to you
Then ring Met life and tell them what the procedure code is and be paid sure it is covered uunder the $1500
It might not be considered General Dentistry
That might qualify as an out-patient surgical procedure. It isn't covered lower than dental on my plan, but is covered as out-patient surgery.
you are lucky it covers experience tooth extraction. my insurance only covers it if it have a cavity or something similar to that on it.
good luck and happy extraction.
ahhhhh METLIFE?
you are getting a horrible deal!
try blue cross blue shield
Just a guess, but maybe. Or they may consider this elective? Good luck.
I believe they will pay 80% of the 1710 if it is done on monday. I'm suire the surgeon knows exactly how much MetLife will payment. We tend to check this stuff out before you get to the organization so we can get your co-pay.
Good Luck with this, be sure to rest alot after the surgery. Source(s): orthodontic staff 18 years
