Dental insurance sound out?

Hi,

I went for a consult to an orthodontist and got an estimate on how much my insurance would cover and how much I would enjoy to pay. Is it possible that if I go to another orthodontist, their rates will be at variance, I mean the total charge of the procedure? Or would it be the same?

Thanks
Answers:
Yes, it's possible. A friend of mine got quotes from 2 different orthodontists and they be considerably different. She went to the cheaper one and her son had great ortho work. So yes, it pays to shop around.
It is possible to get hold of a different price, but it may not change much if your insurance policy dictates the price. also keep contained by mind that you may have to pay full price for another exam and x rays or copies of them. Since the insurace will not cover it twice. Perhaps check contained by the yellow pages and call for around to get an idea, but after I am not sure what legitimate places discuss prices over the phone. Good luck!
Insurance companies hold what's called the Allowed Amount. The Allowed Amount is the contractual agreement with the dental provider on what they allow them to charge the customer. Based on your benefits you will be responsible to salary a portion of that amount, but it's one of the benefits of having insurance. For instance, lets say-so the Orthodontist says the total charge will be $400, the insurance company may say, this provider have an agreed amount per contract of $249 dollar, so the difference will be the doctor/dentist liability, and then if the insurance pays 80% then you would be responsible for the the 20% of 249.
Shop around!
