This all depends on the insurance plan and the reason for the crown.
Most crowns are covered by insurance for between 50 and 60 %. The rest may be your out of pocket expense.
Dental insurance can be tricky. There are DMO's, HMO's and PPO's....adjectives plans are different. If your dentist is a provider, he may have to write off the cost out of pocket....With an HMO it will be covered 100% if you are going to an within network provider. PPO's are a bit trickier!
