Dental insurance that covers t.m.j?

Answers: First of adjectives, if you report to any insurance company, dental or health, that you have tmj, you probably won't catch covered.

Second, this would fall under your form policy. If you are talking individual, and not group insurance, not many individual policies cover tmj. Mine doesn't.

The suggestion to move about to a chiropractor is a good one. Office visits can be relatively inexpensive, and they can, and do grant relief. I occasionally get tmj, and my chiropractor help tremendously.

Stop chewing gum. My tmj only acts up after I've be chewing gum.

Good luck. Source(s): http://www.heath-insurance-low-cost.net - my site

Okay first of all its not TMJ...its TMD and insurance companies look at that.......

Everyone have TMJ that is the joint and the TMD is the disorder.....

I to own TMD very bad and I work for a physical shrink....they are more suited to work with TMD besides a dentist......there are also dentist who skid more towards this disorder but they are not specialists....

Chiropractors have nothing to do beside the joint of the jaw they work near the spine......if you are having pain within the neck or upper extremities see if your dentist will give you an NTI device ....they are great and inside one week my pain was gone.....

I have neck pain, headache and severe shoulder pain and numbness in my paw and could not sleep at night.....the NTI was a lifesaver

I do hold to get braces to realign my jaw but the NTI is great.
T M J is a muscle and bone disorder, and does not necessarily need to be covered by dental insurance. In fact, it should be covered contained by medical insurance, and it should be listed as a specialty. There are TMJ specialists, so you should find out about it.
If medical insurance is denying you, I don't muse that you will get covered by any dental insurance.
Ask your general doctor give or take a few it, and he should be able to recommend a doctor for you. Source(s): Former Health Insurance Salesman
forget dental.... go chiro.... dentist can with the sole purpose offer you night guards and meds... if thats what you want ok... but you will still live next to the pain.... chiro will take the dull pain away and no need for meds or expensive night guards that a moment ago make it hurt more.... i suffer from tmj and have tried everything finally i go to a chiro and my headaches, jaw, nouns , ear and shoulder pain all shift away... now it does not go away for ever because ingestion the wrong food or chewing gum can bring it back but its not as bad and you drop by the chiro and he makes it all better..
