My father requirements dental implant but insurance doesn't cover it. What to do?

My father is 57 and needs dental implants, but his dental insurance company doesn't cover implant. And there is no way to reward out of pocket, several thousands of dollars for implants.

it is a serious problem because he has difficulty chewing food. I agree he may not hold been careful within caring for teeth when he was pubescent and young during the 60's and early 70's. But for the finishing 20 to 25 years he has been taking angelic care of teeth.

Why must a person be punished for his former actions, instead of being provided help out?

What is the point of health insurance if they will refuse to cover critical health expenses? Teeth are important to a person's resourcefully being.

Most of the CEO's of such insurance companies make several millions of dollars themselves, but stay away from to pay few thousand dollars for patient who requests serious help.

When will there be a switch in health keeping?

I'm a dentist.

If your father is 57, I'm going to assume that you're at least possible 18 years old--or close to it.

You're old enough to know better than to manufacture such a complaint. Your father isn't being punished. He's simply paying for his own mistakes. It's not anyone else's responsibility to help him.

And resting on that, your father doesn't NEED implants. That's like me cliché, "Oh, woe is me, I don't have money to buy a car. Why won't someone donate a Rolls Royce so I can drive to work?"

Your father, if he does for a while research, could find a doctor who could make him a set of dentures for under $2000.
I'm also 57 and I'm getting implants. I will be paying 35,000. I have a obedient portion of it, but I'm borrowing the rest. Tell him to ask his prosthedontist for another option. He would have the post put contained by and then an open pallet denture would be made that would snap into the post. The denture would never move and he would know how to eat again. Its a cheaper way of going. Also call upon around, all surgeons have different prices for the post and crowns. Ask roughly payment plans. They will help. I'm going through impossible to tell apart thing but I've done a ton of research on line and on the phone. He requests to see a perodontist or a prosthodontist. Don't go to a regular denist for implant post. Make sure they enjoy done alot of these and are Board Certified in the field. Good luck
His best bet is to get a discount dental plan, but not one that charges monthly fees. There are several companies out there that provide coverage for a per annum fee of less than $100. It's not impossible to tell apart as insurance, but it will help reduce his out of pocket expenses. Source(s): http://www.consumersadvantagedentalcare.…

Most insurance companies do not cover dental implants. However, most insurance companies will help you earnings for crowns and bridges or dentures.
If your father does not have any dental insurance, a social worker could be of help. He/she will know how to connect him with various community supports and resources. For example, a free dental clinic.
The social worker will also be aware of affairs of state policies and programs that may be of use to your father.

Hope this help.
There are many options for replacing missing teeth, beside implants being the most costly. I bet your dad's dental insurance would cover a percentage of a removable partial denture or a full set of dentures if he doesn't enjoy any teeth. A partial is not as nice as implants, but isn't something to chew on that you could afford better than nothing?? Source(s): I'm a dental hygienist
I hold a discount dental plan. We get great savings. I will contribute you the website.
