How much of my dental bill will my insurance cover?
i've literally never been to a dentist. i know i have some cavity and i have an idea of how much dental work costs w/o insurance and its going to be rather a high bill to get everything fixed. i live within NY and have Blue Cross Blue Shield as an insurance provider.
I just looked-for to get an idea of how much dental insurance covers of the actual bill, and the percentage of the bill i should expect to income out of pocket. thanks

The dentist should examine you and set up a plan to fix your problems. At that time they can talk about the charges and spread out the work and charges as you inevitability. Most dental insurance covers the full cost of a basic cleaning and checkup, so the first visit will feasible not involve any out of pocket.
The first visit will probly just be x-rays and the dentist will look, singular look at your teeth.
Then they will write a breakdown of everything you need and all the charges. Then you can pick and choose what you want them to do at the subsequent visit. It is like getting your motor fixed. The first visit is just an estimate and later you pick what you want them to do next time. Source(s): I do not like going to the dentist any.
If your dentist really wants your business, they will folder a "treatment plan" and let you know what your costs would be and what they expect the insurance to pay. So, your best bet would be to consult to the dentist directly. Source(s): http://www.dentalbillingsoftware.com
