Getting a second view and using dental insurance?

I was recently told I inevitability a root canal on a tooth that looks fine and does not hurt. How do I get a second feelings - will insurance cover another exam?
Answers:
Call your insurance company and ask them. Odds are they won't cover a second opinion. Maybe you can ask your dentist to show you your x-ray and have him explain within detail why you need one. Just because a tooth may look fine to you, doesn't mean that it's good or won't hurt like heck later on. Source(s): I am a Certified Dental Assistant.
