Does the Air Force give perfect dental insurance?

Also, does anyone know what the sign on bonus currently?
Answers:
The dental service for an active duty member is okay. You carry your teeth cleaned once a year and they will do root canals or whatever treatment you want as needed. The dental insurance for Dependants is through United Concordia. You have to pay $30 a month and you enjoy to pay a co-pay (about 20-30%) for any treatments beyond cleanings and X-rays. It's not that great.

The AF only have sign-on bonus for select AFSC's like Pararescue and even then the bonus isn't that big. The AF is looking for culture willing to serve not those they have to PAY bonuses to for them to serve. This isn't the Army!
For the service branch it's not really insurance. They just provide you dental when needed. They're generally ok, but as beside most military docs I've seen they're a little short on bed side bearing. Air Force Dentists are definitely better than Army dentists.

Remember that it's their job to save you ready to fight, not to provide you a service.
