I took out home contents insurance smaller amount consequently 2 weeks ago - Is it too soon to manufacture a claim?
My insurance company is Virgin and I'm in the UK.

im sure it would be fine. it might look a bit suspicious but you cant help it if something bleak has happened
you can claim on your policy from the date you took out the policy.
however if the claim is for subsidence or something that may have happen before the inception date, then they will most credible send out an assessor and if they feel it happen before the inception date you would need to consult your previous insurer.

Well it does look a tad sus. Two weeks surrounded by & your making a claim.....Do not get me wrong you could be an hour in to the insurance & you spill coffee on your cream hearth rug.
As long as the date the incident occurred which you want to claim for is after the date the insurance policy was started, next you will be OK. The only exception is to do with subsidence which is a bit more complicated
hi of late to tell you when i flew the nest and got my own place i took out home contence insurance i be only in the house for 5 days and i be burgled and the insurance company was spot on i recieved the full pay out ! as soon as the documents are sighned you enjoy full insurance cover (good luck ) Source(s): own experiance

IAN, Home insurance covers lots of different things. I don't understand adjectives the fine print of my policy, but my home insurance agent is always a phone call away.
