UK Home contents insurance?

I am in the UK and have home contents insurance. My rear external door is the responsibility of the Council, who i rent the house from.It is a very bad defective door, have a square type box lock on it and a big gap around the edges. where it could be prised widen, it has been kicked contained by.
Would i still be covered with insurance if someone broke in via this door ? It is a shed type door.
I cant afford to replace the door myself.
Thanks.
Answers:
You involve to read the small print on your policy, look for minimum security requirements that might speify a certin type of lock, usuallly a 5 level mortice deadlock surrounded by addition to a normal lock.

Also check that you enjoy not applied for any secruity discount that says you have said locks.

I would still nag the council, sending them a dispatch that you will hold them responsible for any loss that you incure should access to your home be gained through this inadquate door.
i think your insurence would be invalidated by this, when the police formulate a report they would tell that you had an inadiquate door.

your supposed to hold a solid back and front door, i would get onto the council roughly speaking it asap.
