Answers:
It will depend on whether your insurance policy for contents included accidental twist cover.

I suggest you contact your insurance broker who will advise you further and confirm the cover. If you don't have a broker (and this is one perfect reason why you should have one!) and don't know the insurance company afterwards if you are paying by direct debit your bank statement may give a air. this is not going to be covered under your homeowners insurance policy. you breaking your chair is not a covered peril. sorry... Source(s): agent
Hi near.

You will only be able to claim on your home contents policy IF you enjoy cover for accidental damage. If it have been damaged by fire, sea etc or if it had been stolen these things are covered as standard. However, unexpected damage is usually optional and you would hold paid extra premium for it.

If you have lost the policy, hopefully you can remember where on earth you bought it. If you give them a call and provide your pet name and address, they should be able to find your details and help you sort your claim out. Source(s): Claims arranger for an insurance company!
If you own cover for accidental damage for your contents next you can, however if you haven't then I'm afraid you can't.
You can claim lower than the home insurance policy and you will need to contact your insurance carrier to see if they will cover your break. Did you have a police report? It's always assiduous to file an police report! If you lost your insurance policy you might need to contact your agent or whoever you purchase the insurance from and they should other keep a record of your policy their can be located by your identify or your house address!
