Try your local insurance broker. Specifically ask for a good insurer.

They will assess your needs and advocate you accordingly - you will also have the guarantee that the premium they quote is the premium you will foot - something that, regrettably, comparison websites are notorious for being economical give or take a few!
it depends on your circumstances. For example, if you are over 50s, i'd recommend www.castlecover.co.uk

Good luck!

there is a list of ten home insurance companies at http://www.urmall.co.uk/house-insurance-cheap adjectives household names, the site also tells you the amount of online discount a company have on offer, halifax has a 35% rotten offer if you buy online, beware though this doesn't mean it the cheapest, i would grasp a quote off all the companies planned and go with the cheapest
Moneysaving expert have some good advice and forum to checkout. Your question should be covered there.

Just read that Norwich Union (who insure about one contained by five homes in the UK) are to increase property insurance premiums by an average of 10% from next week.

Maybe other insurers will follow them due to the recent flood claims, so conceivably its time to shop around.

Remember don't choose the cheapest, review the cover also. Source(s): http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insuran…
