Whta is home contents insurance for exactly?
my policy says laptops are now covered: covered for what? if i obtain burgled or if i break it?

But if your laptop gets stolen, or damaged surrounded by a fire, flood, or sometimes even if you drop in and it breaks, you are able to claim.
The laptop would be covered against perils listed contained by your policy. The basic perils covered would be fire, twist, etc. Theft may or may not be covered as it depends on your policy.
Contents insurance covers adjectives your belongings. Furniture, clothing, cash etc. I don't think it covers chance damage.
