How are stolen gifts treated underneath content insurance policy claims?

I was recently burgled and wadding in a claim form. I lost many that I have received as gifts. Can I receive compensation for replacement if I cannot prove purchase?
Answers:
You can try but most likely your claim will be rejected if you can't prove the item existed. Remember that insurance companies always will try to settle as little as possible (or nothing) so they wont help you if you have no proof of purchase.
You'll own to prove ownership - pictures of you receiving the gifts are the perfect method to do that.
