How do I find started surrounded by the commercial insurance industry? (sales)?
I am looking to start a career in the Insurance industry, specifically the commercial insurance industry, which I hold heard can be extremely lucrative. I do not have any insurance experience, but enjoy outside and inside sales experience in the mortgage and auto industry. I would be prepared to start at the bottom, go through training, etc, to secure a position. I am not sure where on earth to start or which companies to look at, does anyone have any suggestions.

Go to a local, independent agency, tell them you want to sell insurance. They'll provide biddable support staff, and contacts for study materials.
I personally have BEEN support staff to oodles, many excellent (licensed) salespersons who had NO concept about insurance, but could sell rime cubes to eskimos. I suggest you get a job at an independent agency as a producer. Start studying the state exam brochure so you can get your license right away. There are also classes that can help prepare you for this. It is overwhelming at first, but you will revise something every day.
