We don't live surrounded by the kind of country in which we shut up empire with whom we do not agree.
There should be better controls on lobbying, and ordinary folks should have more opportunity to have their opinion heard.
You as a citizen have an prerequisite to be informed. That means doing your own research and thinking for yourself. Maybe those outrageous commercials will provide the incentive for more people to do so.

They should be allowed, but they shouldn't be allowed to disguise it as a grassroots movement. They should hold to let everyone know who they are, and what they represent. And not just by using fine print at the completion of the ad, strategically place where the station logos will hold up the view.
How else could they convince the gullible voters? Remember how successful the tobacco lobby was at convincing people that smoking is accurate for you. I know smokers who still swear on it.
Better press might have been - should Obama hold been allowed to make backroom deal w the drug industry and the hospitals group without it being a public assemblage ?
It's a free country (for now) so yes, they should be capable of pay for anti-reform commercials. They would probably be more honest than the administration have been. Of course, the president doesn't even know what's in the robustness care bill so I guess he can claim ignorance. He's too busy going on vacation.
