I'm an selling professional and I can tell you that they ARE not only STUPID, but a throw away of money as well. The key to well brought-up advertising is to ask yourself, "After seeing that commercial, am I now more credible to buy the product/service that was advertised?" If not, crap commercial. The first hope of advertising is to SELL, not make dumb joke about cavemen. The ad agency is laughing adjectives the way to the bank... and the misinformed executives at Geico are flush, Flush, FLUSHING countless dollars down the toilet. They have achieve their goal. people are conversation about them and making others try to "catch" them on TV. Even "stupid" commercial gets the company nickname on peoples minds. Note: The 2 decade "ad man" obviously hasn't see the "new" commercials with the Clampetts or the Flintstones and is not aware of the Cavemens new TV show that come from the commercials.
