How do I put a hold on commercial transportation insurance for up to a month?
Answers: Get in touch with your Insurance Agent. Explain why you want to do it. It have bee my experience that you would have to prove that the vehicle was not on the public roadway. If you are have work done on the vehicle, get a letter from the repair shop stating when the work is to start off & when the work is expected to be finished. You may be able to put the BIPD & Cargo on hold, but don't put Comp. / Collision on hold. If you have PUC, PSC or ICC Authority, it CAN'T be done. The just alternative is to cancell your insurance policy and re write it when you want to get going again. If your Comp / Collision is with a different Insurance Company than your BIPD, walk out it active. Like I said at the beginning, attain in touch with your Insurance Agent. Source(s): insurance broker
Generally speaking, you don't. Why do you want to? Call your agent and discuss it beside him.
