Being put on mum's saloon insurance policy?
I'm hopefully getting a car soon and since I'm 17 years old - it's awfully expensive to get insurance. I was wondering if in that was anyway I could get put on my mum's insurance policy as a name driver (with me driving my car and my mum's her car). Also if this happened - is within anyway that if I crashed in my car, my mum's premiums wouldn't progress up and/or she wouldn't lose her no claims bonus?
I know it's unlikely, but it's worth asking, right?
Thanks

you could go on your mums but if you do enjoy an accident both yours and her premium will go up subsequent time you could also try the pay as you go insurance to see what the premium will be
your better off starting off next to your own policy i started driving and on my parents policy for 5 years i never had an accident but i never earn any no claims bonus either.
It will cost you a fortune any way. Both cars would need to be insured surrounded by mums name with you as a name driver. In theory you could drive either sports car.If you had an accident and have to claim your mum would lose a year off her no claim bonus and the next years premiums would be sophisticated,
I'm not sure where your from but a cheap place for you peple to get insurance is Fred Loya Insurance. The phone number to a bureau in dallas is 214-351-3663 it wouldn't hurt to see if it's in your nouns & get a quote!
your mum wishes to be the main driver on your car next to you as a named driver--this will be the cheapest option-shop around for quotes
No, without a solution.
The registered keeper has to hold insurance and the prime insurance policy needs to be with the prime driver..
If you jump on your mums policy as a named driver it will have to be a comprehensive policy if you want to drive your motor. You are likely to be excluded from that as you have no no-claims. Also, your motor needs it own policy otherwise you cannot get coup¨¦ tax.
Everyone would do this if it were possible.
If your mom has the car registered surrounded by her name, you can be put on her insurance policy as a named driver. If the vehicle is registered in your name, you will obligation your own insurance. As a named driver, and you claim on the insurance, the premium WILL go up the following year and she will lose her no claims bonus, so effectively, when she comes to insure the vehicle for the following year, she will have to start again, making sure that all accident are submitted on the application form. When you can afford your own insurance (goes down dramatically when you are 25), you should apply for your own insurance.
I work in insurance. If u insure ur car within ur mums name and drive it urself and have an stroke of luck and the insurance company find out they'll charge u an additional premiuim based on u as the driver b4 they will settle the claim. It's call fronting and the insuance companies have various ways of catching u out.
cant have it both ways...any you have ur own/mom is safe...or your on hers....lower price but moms ins go up if u wreck...sorry
If your Mum wants to put you on her policy, she could. She would necessitate to add you as a driver and also add the saloon as a second vehicle. There is no way that if you got within an accident that her policy would not increase. Also, if she put you on the policy, her premiums would increase significantly, as you are an inexperienced driver.
well you needa sepaerate policy for the 2 cars anyway but yeah some companies will submission you a protected no claims bonus at an extra cost, shop around there are some good deal about also try to get one where on earth you get allocated no claims too not just your mum.
Good luck and sunny driving!
You can be put on her insurance, but her rates will skyrocket because of your age and inexperience, and yes, her premiums will increase if you had an accident
