Should the Federal Government provide Universal Car Insurance?

I just had a thought. Since plentiful want the government to provide health insurance to those who cannot afford or will not purchase it, shouldn't the governing body extend it's insurance business to automobile liability insurance?

Supporters say it's heartless and inhumane not to grant health insurance to those who cannot afford it, but isn't it so with coup¨¦ insurance as well? How many society are not able to drive to work because they afford insurance? How many evil aliens are driving around uninsured because they don't have universal sports car insurance? What happens if they causse an accident and enjoy no insurance? Isn't it the same thing?
Answers:
Uh, no.

Health is of the utmost need - and without health, masses can't work, and worse yet, they can't pay the medical costs.

One doesn't "need" a sports car. That is a choice.

Your analogy is rather asinine.
Yes ! They can take the premiums out of your check along with the vigour care premium. Non earners can have it taken from their entitlements or welfare. That opening everyone is covered the same. Illegals would be put in prison if they enjoy a wreck and aren't covered, just like surrounded by Mexico. !! What a great idea !!
Some states go and get involved to help people acquire insurance who otherwise couldn't afford it.

Here in California, as I'm sure elsewhere, between 1/3 and 1/4 of all drivers don't own insurance. This is even though you can't renew your driver's license or your car registration without proving that you own insurance.

One plan that's been suggested is to put a 10-cent tax per gallon on gas, and this would make available everyone a minimum liability coverage. If you wanted more coverage, or collision or comprehensive, you could buy it, but it would be cheaper because you wouldn't need 'uninsured motorist' protection. The article I read roughly speaking this showed how this system would actually be better for everyone! It also suggested that visitors to the state who have their own insurance could keep track of their gas purchases and apply for a refund when they moved out (but I doubt many people would do that).

Health insurance is different from sports car insurance, though. When 45 million Americans simply can't afford health insurance, it's time for the govt. to step in. The comparison to sports car insurance is not a good one.

I am diabetic and my wife has a kidney transplant, and we are both middle-aged. If we have to buy our own insurance we simply couldn't afford it. If one of us didn't have a job that carried insurance, we would enjoy to go on welfare because our insurance would cost most of what we make! We enjoy gotten quotes as high as $4500/mo. for both of us. Maybe you think we only don't -deserve- insurance.
People would drive like lunatics, because there would be no personal liability or responsibility for their engagements in the event of an accident.
"Oops, I crashed. Oh, capably, no problem, the government will pay for it."
Maybe in some socialist country. We are supposed to be Americans. We are supposed to know how to take care of ourselves close to adults. We are supposed to be the champions of freedom. Why do you want to turn your life over to the administration?
