A friends son died contained by a sports car stroke of luck and she can't find out if he have motor insurance What can i do?
Answers: Ask the Police to find out, they can access details of whether he was insured or not, and who with.
Was the vehicle being driven by your friend's son and was it properly tax. I wonder whether enquiries could be made with the DVLA to see if he was insured on their library.
So sorry for your friend, it shouldnt be too difficult to find out. the police should be able to communicate her the info as the data protection act does not cover a character once they are dead (I work in a bank) hope this help
she should be capable of ontact the state dmv where he lived and give them his plate #. they can verbs up his insurance info from their database Source(s): agent
do you mean "if the limp son had insurance"? seems you would enjoy to go through his glove box looking for a proof of insurance card - or go through his personal papers or check book to see if he have purchased insurance and where. Some states require proof of insurance and keep journal of insurance in order to issue registrations. contained by that case the state might have the insurance narrative under the car license number. Chk w/DMV.
ask the police they can check or ring dvla tell them whats happend they should give a hand good luck and sending my condolences
She can try contacting dmv. But with the privacy law- abundantly of information is not public. You have to be an insurance adjuster/agent, private investigator or law enforcement to draw from registration information,
I would say her best shot is to take a copy of the release certificate, letter of command (or similar document your state has) to the dmv. Maybe if she can prove that her son is deceased and she is the representative of the estate- they will give her the information.
The solely other thing to do would be go through his messages and personal papers. If he had a renters policy or homeowners policy - that is usually who the auto policy will be near. If she can locate that agent - they can search and see if her son had a time insurance policy through their office as well.
Your friend can also check near her automobile insurance agent. Even if the son was not insured through their office - heaps agents are willing to give counsel and help run down this type of information.
Was the son driving his car or a vehicle owned by someone else?
There is not really anything you can do except to provide emotional support as she goes through this difficult time. You hold no legal standing with the son so not a soul will give you any information (due to the privacy laws).
With out knowing more about how the misfortune happened (how many cars involved - who be at fault). There is not much more I can tell you.
I am sorry for your friends loss. Source(s): Insurance Adjuster 12 years

How about the police?
Not sure if you meant it be your friends sons car or someone else was driving but within is an Insurance Data base that the police can check with name and the car registration. Not sure if they are allowed to give out this info thou but it worth a try. Hope this help and my heart goes out to your friend xxxx
I'm really sorry to hear that. There is a website where you can check if a UK vehicle has insurance http://www.askmid.com
You can contact the insurance commissioner of the state where on earth your friend's son died. You should request this information by registered letter, and that letter should include the mark of the decedent, the VIN number of the car, the make and model of the motor, and the license number of the car. The insurance commissioner's office will be capable of supply you with the information you need but as I said, you will obligation some or all of the information I've listed above.
Best wishes and I am sorry for your friend's loss. I hope this help get his affairs in charge so she can have some closure.
