Is it possible to reinstate a cancelled saloon insurance policy?
My policy was cancelled about a month ago and I want to reinstate as my registration is just about to be cancelled too.
Answers:
If the policy was cancelled for too plentiful claims (or violations) , you will probably need to get "risk" insurance. It is much greater and usually has to be carried for 3 years.
It would depend on the reason it was canceled within the first place. In some states once they cancel your registration they might also revoke your license.
Step one, call the insurance company and ask something like be reinstated, they will have the only answer that matter after all.
It depends, most companies will not, they will require a new application to start the policy again.
If it was Progressive and on your renewal date that the policy cancelled, they will adopt payment (up to 45 days I believe but that may be different state to state) and restart your policy the light of day after paid & your policy will have a untried renewal date. You will retain the same policy number and coverages - there will be a lapse of coverage but you will not entail to reapply.
If it was Dairyland - they will accept recompense on a cancelled policy (that was cancelled for nonpayment) midterm. It will be effective on the morning after they receive payment (you will need to beckon to find out how much they need to restart the policy). They will issue a new policy number and but keep hold of the same coverages and no new application will be needed.
The best point to do is to call your agent if you have one, or appointment the company directly if you do not.
Who cancelled it. You or them?
