How can I seize vehicle insurance surrounded by Quebec if I enjoy a license from another country?

I'm from Australia, recently arrived in Quebec. I plan to buy a saloon and drive through Canada and the US, eventually arriving in Vancouver. I am having trouble finding an insurance company that will insure a coup¨¦ if I don't have a Quebec driving license.
