Can I gain vehicle insurance for a coup¨¦ not within my signature?
Answers: If you don't own it, and you don't lease it on an OFFICIAL lease, then you enjoy no insurable interest. Even if you pretended it was your car, the insurance company wouldn't hold to pay out.
The name on the title, registration, and insurance policy adjectives have to match.
The short answer is NO. You have to own something in directive to insure it or have what they call "an insurable interest".
Some relatives will suggest lying to a company and telling them that the car is surrounded by your name. Chances are a company would pay the claim...I don`t know. Technically, however, when you sign an insurance policy you also sign that every thing in the policy is true and if it is not it will null and void your coverage. Why pay for something when it can potentially have no good point when you need it? Just get the motor titled in your name at the DMV if you are serious in the region of driving it for a while. The actual owner can be on the title as well and be listed as an "spare interest" with respect to ownership. This way the owner of the vehicle doesn't affect your rates and they are still covered under this policy. When you give the vehicle back just sign the title over. If the owner of the vehicle doesn't trust you to do this, or you don't trust them, consequently don't use this persons vehicle and especially don't get yourself legitimately bound by taking out an insurance policy on their car. As I know it provides such a service.
some companies will present named no owned policies. But this is generally if you enjoy a company car that you would use after hours. There becomes a conflict if you dont enjoy ownership of something and want to insure it. How can you collect for something you dont actually own.
