Like anything else, there are pros and cons. I am 58, and my company pays for long term disability insurance for me. If I am run over by a bus tomorrow and disabled, they will reimburse my wife 60% of my salary. Not sure when it runs out, I better look that up, she might not get by on doesn`t matter what is left of my 401K.
