Any problem near buying a sports car import from Japan if it already have title/registration/insurance?
I am in California - the car is a 2003 Honda S2000 and already have registration, title and insurance in California - anything legal that i involve to watch out for.
I checked with the DMV and they said that as long as it's already registered and near a California title then all is capably.
Thanks!

The DMV, who would know, already gave you the correct answer. Why ask again? Ask here and people will purely tell you to check with the DMV.
Interesting give somebody the third degree. The only way the coup¨¦ isn't Fed approved would be that DMV violated regulations or was given falsified information which are both highly unlikely.
Then on the other side, the S2000 isn't on the "LIST OF NONCONFORMING MOTOR VEHICLES THAT ARE ELIGIBLE FOR IMPORTATION" that can be found on the NHTSA website.
That would plan the Honda S2000 isn't really an import, but one that was intended to be sold within the United States in the first place. It might have be exported from the US and then re-imported.
If you are in contact next to the owner, ask him to see copies of the forms submitted to Customs. Then you can head over to:
