Is it everyday for a jewelry insurance company to ask for the girl's SS# if you bought it?

I just find it odd and unnecessary. Is this everyday?
Answers:
yes, she's the owner after marriage....and the ring will be in her 'keep'.
I don't know much more or less jewelry insurance, but they probably need it because she is the one who will be wearing the ring and would be making the claim if it were destabilized, lost of stolen. It's a way to identify the rightful owner.
There is no reason for them to ask for SS#'s.
Totally normal. It will be her wearing it so they necessitate her info as well.
No. They don't need that information and you are not obligated to give it out.
that does seem to be kind of un necassary... seeing as i'm a girl i dont have any expierecne beside that... lol
the only time your SS# is needed is for agencies that report income. so, your sandbank and your employer need it. no WAY would i give it to an insurance co. they unquestionably do NOT need it.
Yes as expected. She will be the one wearing it and it is hers. Source(s): Insurance Agent
