Where Does The Constitution Give Congress Authority To Make Individuals Buy Health Insurance?

Can you tell me where contained by the Constitution it gives Congress the right to force people to buy Health Insurance underneath threat of being fined or going to jail if they founder to comply ? What ever happened to free choice

Conservatives expanded the power of the federal government using the commerce clause so that they could put people contained by jail for using drugs or for being a socialist/populist. This expanded power very soon gives the Federal government the power to do almost anything it desires. Congress has to be careful next to how they word things, but our government is now a rule of enumerated liberties instead of enumerated powers as it was intended.

However, the power of the US elected representatives is generally used to help luxurious individuals and businesses at the expense ordinary citizens. If our economic system wasn't set up to funnel the good point created by laborers to wealthy capitalists, afterwards the government wouldn't need to provide nearly as much assistance to the poor.

Let me point out that this issue arose with Medicare. You can use it or not, but you still have to payment for it. It is an earned entitlement and you can only be exempted on religious grounds or by treaty or if you are covered by dependable other plans the Congress has exempted by law. Also, most companies and professionals, adjectives common carriers and even motorists are required by tenet to provide proof of insurance or post a bond in order to operate. It is adjectives quite constitutional. To think otherwise is a short time ago wishful thinking.

Someone said article 8 but there's simply 7 articles to the constitution. Now Article 1, section 8 starts with
"The Congress shall enjoy Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and standard Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;"

I don't think forcing populace to buy healthcare in in the Constitution one and the same way that forcing people to buy motor insurance (which I believe is state law not federal) is in the Constitution. But we adjectives have to buy car insurance. I suspect the argument will lay within Article 1 Section 8 somehow.
