Where can I buy renters insurance?

I live in NYC and want to buy renters insurance. Does this cover flooding (from the sprinkler system), fire and robbery? I don't want to spend more than $100-$120 a year. Any advice?
Answers:
Well, the price you're trying to spend, is not possible, for renters insurance in NYC. You're going to have to drop $250, for a policy that covers $15,000 next to a $500 deductible.

Yes, it would cover accidental water discharge, fire, and nicking - in most cases.

You need to chat to a local independent agent, to get a company willing to write within NYC. Many companies won't write there. You can locate an agent at www.iiaa.org.
Flood is not the right word. Water from a sprinkler system or a pipe breaking is called "sea damage". Renters insurance does cover some types of water damage and fire and larceny.

The price depends on many things. It is pretty reasonable. Get a quote from the company that carry your auto insurance. If you don't have auto insurance, then of late call some local agents for some quotes. It is usually around what you said you want to pay unless you hold some pretty expensive stuff.
