Think of buying a catagory D saloon which is an insurance write past its sell-by date?

I have just be to view a 2005 Nissan Micra with 13100 on the clock the coupé had a crush which damage the tail takings and the bumper both have been replaced to a large standard. The car would be worth lb5000 but is selling for lb2200. Everything seems upright at 1st glance but i am concerned about insurance and weather or not it's a biddable ideal to take the have a flutter. The seller showd me the before and after pictures of the vehicle and it seemed to fit wot he was proverb. He also has a valied MOT which is a month old I don't plan on selling the coupé if i buy it.

How much damage can a knock do to the front of the vehicle or any of the important parts?

Please can someone advocate wot the best thing would be to do?

It sounds a little suspicious to me. If the only ruin was to the bumper and tailgate it makes me wonder why the insurance company would write it sour. I am in the motor trade and generally speaking an insurance company will solitary write off a vehicle if the cost of repairing it is over two thirds the value of the vehicle prior to the luck. If the car was worth lb5000 prior to the happenstance then they would only write it past its sell-by date if it would cost more than approx lb3300 to repair. To replace and paint a new bumper and tailgate wouldn't cost anything like that much. Obviously it vary between insurance companies but it does seem strange that they should write the vehicle off if that be the only damage.
Get an AA or RAC inspection. Thats the with the sole purpose way to find out if you are buying a scrap mountain or not.
cat d is very minor twist so its a good deal on the other hand if it be a cat c thats when you need to be more carefull.i would proceed and offer lb1800 Source(s): motortrader 20+yrs
Personally, I wouldn't touch the saloon. If I knew a car have been in a crash I wouldn't buy it, no business how well it had be repaired.

If you must buy it, then ask the seller if they will embezzle you and the car to an authorised Nissan dealer for a full check. Also, do perspective checks with the DVLA etc.

I would still look elsewhere though if I were you. If lb2200 is your budget, after go for something older but that hasn't be in a bad coincidence. For that sort of money you could get something like a 1999/2000 Focus or Golf. Mondeos also move about for peanuts especially with high milage, but they're built for the miles and will later well.
