If I buy insurance for an engagement ring, does Shane Co's LIFETIME policy expect more than Tiffany's 1 year?

I am trying to decide on 2 engagement rings for my girlfriend.
Both are beautiful and I (and hopefully she) would be amazingly happy with any.

One is from Shane Company - who has a lifetime warranty.
The other is from Tiffany - who has a 1 year warranty.

There are some differences surrounded by the 2 diamonds, but I'm willing to compromise a slightly smaller diamond for the increases clarity and cut.

The question is more in relation to how to insure the diamond and if Shane Company's committment to service out-weighs giving my girlfriend that little blue box. If we get insurance on the ring, then does it situation which company I buy it from?

If you bring back insurance on the ring (which I would recommend, as that covers 'oops I lost it' or 'oops the dog ate it'), it doesn't matter where you buy the ring.

Any warranty or guarantee, is with the sole purpose as good as the company backing it up. If Shane's go out of business, poof, there goes your warranty. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
