Automobile Insurance Question...?

I was involved in a coincidence a bicyclist was riding on the wrong side of the road & on the sidewalk. I was pulling out of my dentist department and she ran into my tire.

I got the police report and she be at fault. However, my insurance company claimed me at fault until they rec'd the police report & afterwards put me a 50% at fault.

This is the insurance company telling me I am 50% and the police report maxim she is at fault.

Does the insurance company have to make available me information regaurding the settlement to her? I never rec'd any information from Geico.

Why in the heck would you report a claim on a tire?
They will provide settlement information to a extent to protect the privacy of the claimant. You have insurance for a principle: to protect your financial well-being. On a incident like this though it would be 50/50 because you were support out. You still hold responsibility somewhere in there. Your insurance might increase or might not. Call Geico and ask them what your luck threshold is..thats what your payout has to exceed in demand for payout to occur on a at-fault accident. Thats what raise the price..not the rates. Insurance Companies are famous for seeing things in the table lamp that allows them to raise their rates.

Try calling and explaining the situation, if you don't get pleasure, get a supervisor on the phone.

Consider an attorney, (they have their purposes, this may all right be one of them)

You might also consider another insurance company, who'll listen to you, (or at least read the police report)

Good Luck
When crossing a sidewalk exit you are required to give right of agency to pedestrians. Where there is no prohibition against bike riding on a sidewalk a bike rider has impossible to tell apart status as a pedestrian tho' s/he has a greater duty to avoid collision than one on foot. Barring an impediment to your seeing the bicyclist you have an obligation to stop, & make sure you could cross lacking cutting off the way of a pedestrian. The only reason you are not 100% at quirk is that the "pedestrian" was on a bike.
