Auto Insurance?

Yesterday at school me and a girl backed our trucks into respectively other. We were both parked behind respectively other in the school parking lot and back out at the same time. She ended up pullin out faster than me and i hit the side of her truck beside my bumper. It put a tiny dent into the side of her truck. She wants me to pay for her truck getting fixed, since zilch happened to my truck. I was in recent times wondering what the insurance company would do.. cuz it was both our faults.. so would my insurance salary or would hers for her truck?

Thank you for your help!

It depends on the laws of the state you are in. In some states, you'll be held fully responsible, within some, a proportion of each loss will be assigned to each of you, and surrounded by some, the loss would go 50/50 with respectively of you paying the damages for your own vehicles.

You'll have to ring up your agent to find out which applies to you. And you'll probably want to put a claim in anyway.

You're not going to get the police to come out and distribute you a report - mostly that doesn't happen any more, unless there's bodily injury (like, the need for an ambulance) or one of the vehicle isn't drivable. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
Insurance would probably manufacture you pay for 1/2. Tell her to get a quote and you will take-home pay half. If you go through insurance for something small close to that, both of your rates will increase. I have been surrounded by 2 minor accidents and never went through insurance.
If you both pulled out at the same time you would both be considered at knock in this type of accident. If you DID own damage you'd each be responsible for partially of each other's damage. So if she have $1000 damage and you had $500 she's be responsible for $500 of the violate to her car and $250 of the damage to yours, and so would you. (Not that insurance companies won't try to push that to 75%/25%, but this is contained by general).

Since you did hit the side of her car, though, the insurance company will likely articulate you are more at fault than she is.

Since there is no harm to your vehicle, you would be responsible for (at least) 50% of the damage to her vehicle. Because you are young and rates are so glorious, I'd find out how much the damage to her car is and start off by offering to pay for half of that. I'd turn up to 75%, as long as it was financially feasible.

And remember, you won't procure anywhere by being nasty. Keep it nice.
Amazing the people that don't know but answer anyway. School parking lot is private property. As such there is a completely good chance the police wouldn't come out to do a report surrounded by the first place.

Sorry, if you hit the SIDE of her truck with your bumper, she was contained by the lane and you were backing, so it IS your failure. If you had hit back to put a bet on you might be able to argue 50/50, but not the way you described it.

Have her win an estimate as to repairing her damage. "Tiny" dents can be very expensive, as you are in the order of to find out. If you can pay it out of pocket, do so. If not, report it. Yes, your insurance will pay. Yes, in that is a good chance your rates will increase as a result.
I agre with others.. it's 50/50...

I thought an insurance company would NEED a police report surrounded by order to process a claim.

Find out if this is the case surrounded by the State where you live.

Most people hold a deductible of $500.00 or $1000.00 and the kind of damage you are describing doesn't seem to be to require much more than THAT to fix it.

Bypass the insurance and just pay for the b*tch's repair. Women other win anyway.
It woud be 50/50 ...you are both at failing 50% thats prob what each insurance company will pay
you should of filed an accident report, if someone be at fault it would say contained by there and you would be more likely to go and get a claim paid. You should turn it over to insurance. talk to your agent and see what he say.
It is private property and surrounded by a parking lot. Its VERY hard to show fault within a parking lot! I have been through it twice and the citizens that hit me in both instances did not pay for the weaken. If there is damage done surrounded by a parking lot its pretty much a no fault zone where you wage for your own damage. You most likely won't own to pay for the damage done to her sports car.
