For auto insurance purposes, is it possible to enjoy dual residence contained by separate states?

we live in nj and my wife has her license surrounded by ny... can she keep her license in ny even though she's on my nj auto policy? she also have a family residence in ny.

Insurers will ask you WHERE is the saloon parked at night? What are you going to tell them?

I'm sure you're not the with the sole purpose one with this situation so they'll have an answer for you.

I do suspect high insurance premiums though.

Good Luck
There is no such thing as dual residence, even if you own property surrounded by more than one state. Surely you don't pay state income tax within more than one state. That would be your state of residence.

As far as insurance goes, it's where it's parked at hours of darkness that concerns them, and what your rates are based on. You can have her on your policy if they are aware of the facts, but it may not recover you any money in reality. Talk to your agent.
It depends on what state your insurance policy is underwritten contained by and the address on the policy. If you live in NJ, legally she should enjoy a NJ license. The insurance company can cancel the policy if she doesn't....why? Because they can't run a DMV on her and she's not a licensed driver in the state of NJ. FYI......her residency is base upon where she lives, not where her house owns property. Source(s): Been there, done it....
