Is this auto insurance fraud?

I crashed my car and took out the $4000 motor and swapped in imaginative blown motor. I'm pretty sure the insurance company wouldn't give me $4000 or even half that for my motor. I also took stale the $600 hood and $1700 wheels. We were told by the agent that they might not cover the aftermarket stuff, so we replaced everything we could that be aftermarket.
Answers:
Only if you claimed all the stuff you took rotten as still on the vehicle.
the motor is questionable, but no, not illegal

i see car over at the salvage patio all the time with the aftermarket radio removed since tow in
yes this is insurance fraud, adjusters are taught to look for this gentle of stuff, If you have receipts for the motor hood and wheels after take the chance and see if they will cover it. And since you be told by your agent that they might not cover this stuff, your agent know what you had on the vehicle correct. so if you switched everything he would be an accessory if he did not insist on upon payment of claim. Source(s): I am a licensed agent
Good move. Your in the right.
Gee your agent is a genius.

1st, if you claim the blown motor as anyone damaged then YES it's fraud. As for the rest.....why didn't your agent include the aftermarket things onto your policy? Your policy may cover some of the items at a fraction of the cost so instead of swapping stuff out and off, just be honest and agree to the insurance know what's involved and THEY'LL tell you what's covered and what's not.
I would say not. I do know however, if you can prove it next to reciepts, that stuff you put in like the motor and the hood, etc. It increases the overall advantage of the car. So what ever the kelly blue book says plus some near the aftermarket stuff. Now I couldn't tell how much more. When my Z28 was totaled by a drunk driver my insurance remunerated a lot more than the car be worth because I was able to prove the hot engine, headers , etc that I added in. Now in my situation nil much was salvagable except the radio which ( I asked my insurance rep and he said it was ok) I took out of the sports car befour being sent to the junkyard. Now I will tell you I didn't catch back all the money that I remunerated out for the aftermarket stuff but some was better than none. This was a few years ago though I don't know if things enjoy changed. But I do believe you have the right to take stuff stale you car that the insurance company won't cover.
I had add on stuff on my truck when I be hit by a "hit and run" driver. The insurance company would not cover any of the add on's that got undermined since I did not pay extra premiums for them. Since you only removed after souk things, I would not consider it fraud because you are not asking them to replace the items.
No doubt the easiest way to gain insurance quotes is on the web.
Why would you waste your time on the phone calling around?
the second time i needed quotes on insurance i used one of these comparison sites and it was great.
this is the site i used and it was high-speed like less than 5 mins.
The final thing I want to do is listen to elevator music while waiting for a salesman.
Anyway I got righteous quotes and ended up saving money so I be happy.
So shop around and compare quotes which is easy on the web.
Good starting point is at this site.
