2000 honda civic ex.. recently involved in a disaster, the adjuster came out and so far the estimate is at 3600.00 dollars, but i am sure it will go up as he did not even look beneath the hood as there was injury under there as powerfully... should i mention the diminished value of the car or should i dally until the car is repaired properly then start negotiate the diminished value ?

Some states do not allow DV on an insurance claim. Besides, even with $4,500 in repairs the meaning of the vehicle will only drop about $200, NOT the amount of repairs close to many people believe.
Your vehicle is 8 years feeble - 2008 models are out. Your car is diminished because of its age. You have no diminished significance claim.
If your vehicle is repaired to be as it was since the accident, or if it is totaled and you get the honourable market value, how is in that any diminished value? You had a side panel, it be used and as old as the car. It get bent. The insurance paid for a new panel to be put on and painted. It's different. Where is there any diminished value?

If you warily read your policy, most of them specifically state there is no compensation for any diminished value, claims for that are specifically excluded.
