"In kind" Auto insurance statute? My saloon be totaled...?

Hi all, my car be totaled several days ago and the insurance company is trying to low ball me (no surprise there)

A friend mentioned something called an "surrounded by kind" law where the insurance company finds a saloon comparable and pays tax, and title.

I've searched high-ranking and low for either the law or court cases involving the decree to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

By the way i live surrounded by Ohio, if that helps at all.

Was it your blame?
Full coverage?
Existing loan on the car?
Your friend is discussion out his b*tt. You can't find anything, because he's making it up.

The most the insurance company has to pay, is the actual currency value. Not retail, not replacement, not cost to fix.

You can get a rough estimate of the actual brass value, by looking up the PRIVATE PARTY SALE value at www.kbb.com
