Can someone sue you if they be rewarded by the auto insurance company and the disaster be two years ago?

I am getting sued for 40,000 over a car accident from 2 years ago. I be driving a car in someone else's signature and they had full coverage and it should have compensated him. I dont understand why he has chosen to sue me as powerfully. I dont have anything. I am a single mother who is looking for a second job. Do I want to hire a lawyer?
Answers:
do you have auto insurance?? if so, phone them asap and report this. they will hire a lawyer for you at no charge.

if no auto insurance, then i suggest you find a attorney to represent you. it could be that they are looking for more money than they got from the owner of the car and immediately looking to you for the balance. this could be any assets you have, garnishment from any job etc.

if no response, a judgment will be filed against you. most complaints enjoy a 20 day time period to respond, so bid your auto insurance or a lawyer today
Unless it was YOUR insurance company that rewarded out, yes, you can be sued. If someone else's insurance paid out, you will likely be sued by their insurance company. Just because their insurance compensated out, doesn't get you off the hook for your damages! Their insurer is going to come after YOU for reimbursement.

Can you AFFORD a legal representative? If so, hire one. If not, you'll just have to show up within court. You'll probably lose either way, and yes, within will be a judgement against you. They may try to attach your wages, if you have no assets.
Of course you can be sued. It would appear that the person be not fully pleased with what the insurer paid. If the insurance company did not provide an ample settlement, both you and the owner of the vehicle can be successfully sued. Yes, you need to get an attorney to answer the complaint. If you do not, you will automatically be found at quirk and the judgment lodged against you.
