Statefarm locksmith coverages for auto insurance?

how much StateFarm reimburses for locksmith charges. I had to pay $139 for a locksmith to come and spread out my car. his service charge is 39.99 and $75 for opening coup¨¦ (tax and 10% credit card charge) it totalled to $139.
now any of you has any concept how much StateFarm will reimburse me. Do agents play tricks to reimbruse less money. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thank you

Agents will not try to trick you out of money. Payments are made by the company directly or by the agent and reimbursed by the co when there is a acceptance. However, this will probably fall under the Car Towing or Emergency Service which is an further coverage option on your policy. If you have this coverage next there is a limit to what will be salaried. I'm sure they will not cover the 10% credit card charge part of your bill. Call your agent and they will help. In the meantime be sure to hold on to that receipt. Source(s): works in insurance corral
It varies a little from state to state, but here's the do business. You need to have the Emergency Roadside Service coverage (that designation varies a little too) and the coverage will wage for "locksmith services, up to one hour, to open your car if your push button is lost, stolen or locked inside your car." They will pay solitary for the cost of labor.

So they will definitely reimburse you the $75 and most likely the $39.99 and they'll usually settle up the taxes for your too. The only thing it's probable that they won't pay for is the 10% charge for the credit card.

The Agent will not play games. State Farm Agents normally don't do that...plus it doesn't come out of their pocket (they'll typically write you a check right away, but it comes out of a State Farm corporate account) and ERS claims do not affect any efficiency reports that State Farm Agents are rated on.

You'll procure almost all of that money back if you own ERS...possibly even all of it if you have a cool Agent (or one that's not detail oriented).

By the agency...that locksmith is extremely expensive, I would try not to use him again if I were you.
~~I enjoy a towing option with State Farm on our auto insurance. It covers the going rate contained by your area at 100 percent. I have have State Farm for over 30 years and I have never had my agent play any tricks.

I simply fax or put your foot in to the office near the bill and they reimburse me on the spot. Locksmiths are covered.~~
That seems high to me that they charge a service charge and a separate charge for hole your door. Maybe I am wrong but that sounds like too much.

Your agent can usually reimburse you right away but if this amount is too much the agent may have to convey your reciept to the main office to review and money. That will take a few weeks. I could be wrong. Call and ask your agent. Source(s): http://www.statefarm.com
