My wife rented a coup¨¦, and in a minute wishes it towed. Will our personal auto insurance policy cover the tow?

We have towing on our policy. We live in TX.
Answers:
If you informed your insurance company ahead of time that you were renting an motor, it might. Call your insurance company to check.

If your wife has a AAA Plus membership, the tow would be covered.
No one here will know the answer. It's going to depend on 1. how your policy is written and 2. the circumstances why you have a rental.

Some policies, IF your primary motor is out of commission, whatever coverage you have on the primary would verbs to the rental. So IF your policy is written that way, AND your primary car is within the shop, AND you have towing on that car, on your policy, it would pass over up to the limit of coverage - usually $25.

The tow company should be able to hand over you an estimate on the tow cost - but usually it's $50 for the hookup, and $1 a mile for every mile past 10 or so.
Most probable, but call the rental company first! They may provide a tow. Source(s): Insurance Adjuster
